The Arts Council coordinates year-round exhibits at the County Government Center (701 Ocean Street, Santa Cruz), where paintings, prints, crafts, photographs, jewelry, ceramics, sculpture, drawings, and mixed-media works by local artists and craftspeople are displayed. Other exhibit venues include:  Simpkins Family Swim Center, Health Services Agency, and various County offices.

Artists and craftspeople residing in Santa Cruz County are invited to apply. In addition to the exhibition wall space on the first and fifth floors, the Government Center has three cases for display of three-dimensional work and fine crafts. All exhibits are between 8-9 weeks long.

Interested artists are screened by the Exhibition Selection Committee, consisting of two professional artists, an Arts Council Board Member, a Santa Cruz County Arts Commissioner, a representative from the County Parks Department, and two County employees. The Selection Committee strives to provide quality exhibitions that represent the diverse talents of local artists. Artists should be aware that the County Government Center is not a gallery and should plan their shows to be appropriate for a public office building.

The exhibits at the Santa Cruz County Government Center are presented by Arts Council Santa Cruz County in collaboration with the County of Santa Cruz Department of Parks, Open Space, and Cultural Services.
