Open Studios & Tannery Arts Center Program Manager

The Open Studios & Tannery Arts Center Program Manager's key role is to build creators’ capacity to create and market their work through events, professional development, community connections, and access to resources. The Open Studios & Tannery Arts Center Program Manager will support and guide emerging, mid-career, and established artists as they apply to and prepare for the Tour, playing the lead role in all the event’s details and intricacies, collaborating with the Communications team to promote the Tour and its participating artists. The Open Studios & Tannery Arts Center Program Manager curates events, experiences, and spaces that contribute to the Tannery Arts Center as a hub for creativity and connection. This role is a key contributor to internal events like our Annual Party and leads the production of four exhibits at the County Building.

Starting at 30 hours per week, growing to 40 hours on or after November 1, 2024.

Salaried $62,000 - $70,000, Exempt. Flexible hours, evenings, and weekends as required. Hybrid (In-Person/Remote)

Teaching Artists and Substitutes (Mariposa Arts after school program)

The Teaching Artist mentor recruits and supports a small group of high school students in their artistic development – drama/theater -- and trains them in teaching skills. They then accompany these high school Student Teachers to elementary and middle school classrooms in after school programs and support them in teaching the younger children in the art form.

Mariposa Arts Volunteer (Arts Education)

10 hrs/wk (or less) May-August. Volunteers inventory for art supplies, prep materials and keep supplies organized in our Watsonville office. Contact emily@artscouncilsc.org.

Family Arts Night Volunteer (Arts Education)

5 hrs/wk (or less) Feb-April. Volunteers help set up and break down, and assist with check in. Events take place at various schools around the county in the evenings so transportation is required. Bilingual preferred. Contact emily@artscouncilsc.org.
